Sean Burrows, Ph.D. ::

Sean Burrows is the Chief Technology Officer at Ascend Analytics and has thirteen years of energy analytics experience. Dr. Burrows has led the development of PowerSimm for portfolio management and energy costing with applications at ACES Power Marketing, BC Hydro, DPL, Tristate, PSE, PG&E, and Entergy Solutions. He is the chief software architect at Ascend and has lead the development of innovative techniques for optimizing energy portfolios based on both physical and financial structures. He has also developed and implemented several other commercial applications focused on portfolio management, hedge design, competitive pricing, load forecasting, hydro simulation, and parameter estimation for price volatility, correlations, and elasticity of demand, and database interfacing and design. He also has broad experience in statistics, computer management, database management, application development and system development. Sean holds a Ph.D. and M.S. from University of Wisconsin and a B.S. from Cornell University. Dr. Burrows is an Affiliate Assistant Professor at Montana State University where he continues to contribute his statistical expertise to current research topics.
